Humid, windy Saturday.

Ahh, summer. I never had installed air conditioning in any house I’ve ever lived in, until this trailer - last summer it was glorious, to be able to come in out of the sweltering heat and just lie askew on whatever furniture was available, letting the cooler air wash over - and the stupid thing is already dry again. Apparently there is some kind of stuff they put in it (I’m guessing it’s kind of like coolant for your car?), and since it’s a cheap unit, it leaked out during the winter. I don’t know yet how much it costs to refill it, but my money-pinching self is obviously waiting until I’m so humid I can’t even breathe before I call and ask them to come fix it.
Today I am wearing sweatpant-style shorts (I didn’t even know they made these until WalMarts had them), and one of Troy’s wifebeater shirts. And no bra. Also I haven’t showered and I’m pretty sure I’m what I keep catching a whiff of. Because that’s how classy I am when I’m pregnant - cute goes right out the window most of the time.
However, I am thinking about getting my hair cut. I’ve been trying to grow it out, and mostly enjoying the length, but now that it’s nearly summer AND I’m pregnant - meaning that now none of my hair will fall out, rendering it fifty times as thick as normal - it’s getting close to unbearable.
My hair has been SO cute short before, and I’m feeling the need for something easier, cooler, and significantly more awesome. If my stomach is already pooching out like I’m four months along (even though the scale tells me I’ve gained no more than two or three pounds so far), at least my hair can be badass looking. Right? What do you guys think?
Leave your opinions, votes, and also hair color suggestions in the comments. Anything in this line will work (because it’s non-peroxide, so no bad fumes for me or baby, and also it’s about five bucks from Sally Beauty): Color Jamz by Beyond the Zone.

I love the short look on you - think of the joys of a wash & quick dry style whenever you get over-heated.
If you need variety, you could always gel & spike it! Easy to undo and redo if you don’t like the result.

@ diane:
Exactly, that’s just why I love it when it’s short. I’m only worried that I’ll have long-hair wishes again - but then, I always do, lol.

I think everyone cuts their hair when they’re pregnant. Less to hold back when you have morning sickness…

@ Jackie W transplanted Okie:
That’s sort of how it comes out, but my hair is REALLY thick and has natural curl, so it doesn’t entirely look like hers. :)

Yeah, lol - that makes sense!

Short hair looks GREAT on you! (But I haven’t seen long on you…) Some people can wear short hair because they have great features, while others can’t. It just looks wrong.
If I had all that going for me, I’d definitely take the road of more ease and less fuss.
BTW, Crimson Storm is exactly right. All the wildness of red, but more sophisticated.

Thank you! Actually, that’s the exact color I used on my hair when I got married last month, and it turned out GREAT.

You look great with a short haircut! I think you should go as short as you dare …. you definitely have the features to look like a movie star. And I love the purple, red, or brown colors on you. :) I’ve always wanted pink in my hair, but I’m too chicken.
The “coolant” is called refrigerant and it’s written on a tag on the a/c unit itself. The cost all depends on how old it is …. if it’s R12, it’s probably about $80 per pound and you might need anywhere from 1/2 a pound to a pound. You’d have to call someone to come out and do it, too, so figure in the cost of labor. My husband knows a bit about it, that’s where I’m getting my info from. He said if it’s an older unit you might consider buying a new one … might not be cost effective to repair the old.

When a woman is pregnant, and my wife and I have had 4 kids also, whatever she wants to do with her hair, clothing, shower schedule, etc is totally up to her. I was just so thankful she wanted to get pregnant through the summer time was enough for me.

With the heat of the summer coming on, shorter is definitely better. I’m told that extreme summer heat + pregnant = bad scene. ;)

Shorter is better for the summer and having the baby. I vote for short, be practical and cute at the same time. We visit 10 blogs everyday and you are one of them today. Have a great week.
