It has been raining SO MUCH here. I don’t think it has let up since day before yesterday – and it’s flooding all over. I only managed to get Troy halfway to work before we had to turn around because there was water all over the road, and if there is one thing I CANNOT do it is drive through water when I have no idea how deep it is. ACK.
I felt awful that he had to call in, but there was nothing to be done. He didn’t even have enough time for me to try an alternate route (hint: there weren’t any roads less waterlogged, since I took the one most likely to be dry[er]). All in all it was a bummer, although it’s always nice to have him home in the evening.
I guess we’ll eat frozen pizza tonight and watch old movies on VHS, and wish for the rain to go away. By the third day of all-out rain, it definitely loses its charm. Thanks a LOT, Ike! :p
(I’d put in a photo of how rainy it is, but if I were to either open a window or a door to get a shot of the soak-ed-ness, I would immediately be wet and so would my camera. YUCK.)

Sorry you’re so water logged. :( Dontcha just love Hurricane Season?
I just posted the Little Fish of the Month poll over at my blog and you’re one of the three nominees. ;)

Wow, that’s so cool – I clicked over and that looks like a lot of fun! :)
Thankfully the water was able to mostly drain off after those several days of waterlogging. It’s still muddy, but not flooded, thank goodness.
If you ever drive into water that turns out to be deep and your car conks out, the easiest way to get out is to take your car out of gear and try to turn the engine over and straight off again, the engine turning over will jump your car forward about a foot, keeping doing that until you’re out the otherside.
Sometimes a situation isn’t just as scary when you know how to get out of it.
