Evening School

Hello, how are you? I am TIRED.
So far, November is kicking my butt, although mostly I’m enjoying it. I love being part of Nanowrimo, I love the challenge of blogging every day, and I love my crazy-awesome life. I love being in this new house, as well, and waking up to the patter of little feet on a creaky (and beautiful) wooden floor. I love being able to homeschool them, and I mostly love that I can homeschool them AT THE SAME TIME as I have put myself on semi-bedrest.
I woke up this morning, fully intending on waking up within a few hours (right now, being pregnant, it takes me about two hours to finish waking up every day), and I just never did. I’m still tired. I took my prenatal vitamin, I’ve eaten food (that was good for me, even!), I’ve had water to drink and my normal morning cuppa joe. I’ve relaxed and done nothing, and I am STILL tired.
I came to the conclusion that I won’t be waking up today at all, so the best solution was to put myself back to bed until Troy went to work, and now I am down here on the couch, waiting for the kids to finish their gourmet dinner of boxed mac and cheese, so that we can do school after dinner.
We’ve actually been doing school in the evenings for a little over a week, because it has worked out better to do it that way (obviously, ha). Like I said already, right now it takes me a few hours to fully wake up. And then, my best creative hours are in the afternoon, so that is when I schedule web work for myself. By 2pm, I need to start putting our late lunch/early dinner together so that we can all eat before Troy leaves for work at four, and after that - the evening is free for school. This means that I don’t have to rush anyone through being a perfectionist listing their spelling words in perfect columns (*cough*LISSIE*cough*), because the natural punishment for taking too long is, well, no time for goofing off before bed.
Today Lissie is going from single-digit multiplication to double-digit (HOLD ME!!), and Joey is being reintroduced to subtraction after several weeks of good old fashioned addition. With Ian here, this means he gets to participate in history lessons this week (we’re in ancient Egypt right now), science worksheets (dinosaurs!), and of course my trusty standby, coloring pages and/or playdough while the other two multiply, subtract, spell, and learn parts of speech.
I love my life, bedrest or not. How’s your day going?

OK, I must have missed something along the way. Why are you on bedrest? Good luck with the Nano/Nablo stuff this month. I opted not to do it this year because.. well, I’m pregnant and tired and just don’t feel like it.
