Coding My Butt Off

I thought I’d take this opportunity to introduce one of my newest clients, Marcy of the brand spankin’ new marcywrites.com!  She wanted to move her long-time blog, The Glamorous Life (a Blogger blog), to Wordpress, so she could hang with all the cool kids.

I kid, I kid.  Marcy is already WAY cool.  ;)

Her domain name was being held hostage by her current webhost, Uplink Earth.  After accompanying Marcy through an evil web of hold music, unhelpful online customer service, and support tickets that never resolve, I have come to the unfortunate conclusion that Uplink Earth SUCKS, and nobody should EVER use them on purpose.  And if you should find yourself hosted by them and only now realize it, RUN AWAY!! Save yourself!!

I moved her domain to my hosting instead, because nobody should be trapped without hope with a host that can’t explain why your website won’t resolve.  (In non-geekspeak, her website acted like it didn’t exist. Poof. Error. And so on.)  In less than a day, she had a shiny new Wordpress blog, and already wrote her first post!  All her old entries and comments were imported from Blogger, so she lost nothing important.  Of course, she’s learning how to play with the sidebar and other fun junk like that, but I already think her blog looks pretty awesome.

So if you have time, drop by and say hi to Marcy.  Her last post is a funny one, by the way.

Also, I have been coding my butt off getting That Girl’s new look (and new website) all ready to roll out tomorrow, which also happens to be her birthday!  And the start of the 2008 Summer Olympics!  Coincidence?  I THINK NOT!
