And now, not so much with the numbering.

I still have a conundrum with this here blog of mine. I need a better theme (which I’ve been working on when I have time, and I have gotten good feedback from the people I’ve showed it to); I need to upgrade to the latest Wordpress version (which I tried, and broke my blog awfully - not once but TWICE); and I want to start theming my posts just a little bit more.

No, I don’t mean I’m going to have a plethora of stupid memes and lists of irrelevant crap and what I’m reading/listening to/eating right now (although it’s sometimes fun to do those, and I have, of course). I mean that I am going to begin to utilize this space to also share more of the geeky/techy knowledge that I have. I’m thinking of doing a weekly geekout review, on web apps and free software that I’ve tried, and whether or not I liked it and WHY. I read Lifehacker religiously, and I almost always try the stuff they recommend. I thought it might be super useful if more people than just their gigantic crowd of commenters said something about the software itself and whether or not it was all it was cracked up to be.

I’ve tried plenty of stuff that was either ugly, non-useful, or a RAM-hog, to name a few things. So I figured, with my signature brand of sarcasm and ironic hilarity, this might be a fun and helpful feature to bring here. I am also working on beefing up my blog with REAL content, not just the silly kind that (albeit fun) is not at all relevant for my readers, you dear sweet people you, unless you actually wanted to know what I ate for breakfast. And I suspect you do NOT.

I’d love to do video posts too, except that when I turn on my webcam, nothing but idiotic-ness comes out, and I mostly grin like an idiot and check my hair with the handy mirror image of myself. Do any of you have tips for creating a good quality video blog?

My freelancing gig(s) are working out very well. I am enjoying my new schedule, and am making an effort to spend time away from my computer when I am supposed to be taking a break. It’s amazing how easy it is to glue myself to my monitors (I’m dual screening it now, and I LOVE IT) and forget to get up and do anything but go the bathroom or to the kitchen to refill my coffee mug. I am really happy to be at a point in my life where I can handle this type of scheduling, and be much better at monitoring my time. I feel more productive, anyway.

Expect me to post more often, since I am actually putting it on my to do list now. :)
