15: Stuff and nonsense.
Blogged on Saturday, January 13th, 2007 by Rachael. Filed in Randomness.
I was going to post today only because I figured that I should - it’s been a while since my last post, and it just seems like when you blog you’re supposed to write regularly or something.
But then I thought that I could update you all on how I’m doing with my half-assed resolutions! Because that will be fun, and potentially embarrassing for me.
Here are the things I’ve managed to accomplish so far from my list of resolutions:
- Write and mail one letter. Whee!
- Write (mostly) and not mail another letter. I have the address written on the envelope, though! And it’s only been about a week since I did that, so it’s not too late, right? Do you know if there’s an expiration date on letters that you’ve dated? Won’t I seem awfully lame if I mail a letter a month after I started writing it. I’d better get on that.
- I started another knitting project. I think that counts, because I did MENTION that I was pretty sure I’d be starting another one, and I did, so that counts. I think.
- I’m trying to finish one of the books I’ve been reading for a while, so that I can fully absorb all its wonderful information and then maybe review it here, possibly in a helpful sort of way. Then I can do it again!
Here are the things I’ve done/partially accomplished that were not on my list of resolutions:
- Download and watch Full Metal Alchemist in its entirety (51 episodes!), then sorrow for several days because why do anime heroes have to be so flipping cute?! And not even REAL?! I can’t even write them a ridiculous fan letter expressing my undying infatuation.
- Order the Full Metal Alchemist movie (IT WAS ON SALE, it was meant to be), because I am now officially obssessed.
- Instruct my mom to begin watching the series, thereby causing her to become nearly as obssessed.
- Meet with the pastor at the church about the youth, discovering that we are on the same page, so yay! Things are moving ahead there, which is good.
- Attend two meetups for the Flint writing group from Nano, and have a ridiculously good time.
- Design the header for our new Red Hot Writers blog.
- Get completely carried away and design tshirts, a mousepad, and a bumper sticker at Zazzle with the Red Hot Writers logo.
As you can see, I’ve been having a good time. Whether or not I’m accomplishing anything? Meh. ;)

“it has come to our attention, via the higher ups, that it would do us a world of good to have you submit reviews for the book hogan and i recently penned. apparently it will prove really helpful in the overall distribution of the book. we are told that if you can create a substantial buzz, then, apparently book stores get really excited about stocking it. this would be a good thing. so please, if you’ve read the book and have kind things to say, CLICK HERE IMMEDIATELY to lend your voice to the matter.
if you haven’t purchased the book yet, kindly show your heart felt support for what we’re trying to do here! CLICK TO SHOW YOUR LOVE!!
and lastly, if you haven’t seen this yet, you must do so now. the video of hogan and i is just stupid delightful. CLICK HERE for absolute joy!!
