10: Random busyness and Christmas junk.

Blogged on Saturday, December 16th, 2006 by Rachael. Filed in Randomness.

This is a big weekend! And it’s been a busy week too. Networking events up the wazoo for work (which I love doing), as well as my normal workload, and also getting music ready for tomorrow. A bunch of my favorite people (Josh, Brett, Brian, Starbux, Krista, Buffy) and me are doing Christmas music at church tomorrow. :D We usually look more like an emo band than a ‘worship team’, so it’s always fun. I love doing music with all my people.

Also this evening, my sis and me are going to Sarah’s Christmas party! Woo! I think I’m going to make up a scone mix that I got while in Frankenmuth a little while back, or maybe bring chips and salsa, I don’t know yet. I had to make a list of all the things I need to accomplish today so that everything happens in the way it’s supposed to - and hopefully I didn’t forget anything.

Also! I’m making my sister her Christmas gift this year, and I just started it yesterday. If she reads this (which she probably will), I’m sure she’ll know what it is. I’m hoping it’s all done by Christmas, otherwise she may brain me. ;)

I still have shopping to do, even though I’ve taken care of the major stuff… but I haven’t decorated ANYTHING here in my house. Maybe I should put up at least a string of lights around the windows before everyone gets here later.

And just because this post is mostly crappy, and because I love you, here are some fun links if you’ve got time on this slow Saturday morning for clicking:

  • Send yourself an email later with F u t u r e M e. This could be hilarious if done late at night or while somehow inebriated (I do not condone the overuse of alcohol!). Or you could use it to remind yourself of something.
  • Hyper History Online (apparently recommended by The History Channel). Among other things, there are timelines with clickable links to find out more about people or things or events. Very spiffy and full of information.
  • The Wayback Machine. You may already know about this, but it’s freaking interesting. Rather historical (there appears to be a theme here). Put any site address in it!
  • CookingByNumbers. Apparently you can click which ingredients you have, and this site will give you a recipe to cook from. Huh. What if all I have is an apple and a can of baked beans?
  • And finally, A Low Impact Woodland House. Sounds pretentious, but LOOKS LIKE A HOBBIT HOLE! I’m not even kidding. I want one of these!

Well, there you go. Have some fun with that.

For those of you wondering about me since my last post, yes I am doing better. The chiropractic care and the extra water-drinking and the more-healthy diet are making me feel definitely better. Thanks for caring, you all rock. ;)

Yeah, but - people LIVE in it. It’s their home. Wouldn’t they maybe not be excited about people dropping by?

…still, I would love to go inside and all around it. :D
